Anat Basanta

"I am fond of using familiar ornamented 'retro' patterns, almost kitschy wall-paper like designs, which typically appear in fabrics, feminine ribbons and laces. It reminds me of my childhood. I use these repeated elements; not as a decoration, but as a texture. It served me as a communication code between my feminine artistic vision, and the self expression of the women who wears the jewel and loves it. I tend to work with simple forms, and strive to reach the meeting point of beauty and intrigue."
